Benefits: As we age, our metabolism slows down. The result – fats accumulate faster in different parts of the body. This can especially be noticed from yearly festive indulgence that accumulates itself on your waistline, tummy, arms, legs and thighs! Our natural response to these new profound bulges is diet and exercise but in some cases they do not respond to proper diet and exercise.
In order to remove these bulges, CoolSculpting utilises controlled cooling technology to kill fat cells after they become crystallised. The dead fat cells are naturally eliminated from the body so it is considered safe. After a few weeks or months of treatment, the stubborn fat layers gradually decrease in size.
WHAT TO EXPECT
CoolSculpting is not an invasive procedure, so expect minimal discomfort while the procedure eliminates stubborn fat from your body, without the need for surgery. The procedure uses a non-surgical method of targeting fatty areas in your body. During the treatment, an applicator will be used to evenly distribute cooling to the target area to remove stubborn fat cells. Each target area takes about one hour to treat. After an hour of freezing fat cells, 28 to 30% of those cells will be destroyed. When the fat cells die they will be absorbed by the body and released naturally, resulting in less fat in the targeted area. Normally, the first 10 minutes of the treatment is the most uncomfortable for majority of patients but usually become accustomed to the sensation.
The overall discomfort usually depends on the amount of tissue stretch. Because tissues are suctioned while using the CoolSculpting probe the more tissue pulled, the greater the overall discomfort. Noticeable results are usually seen within one to three months after the treatment. Clients can have multiple treatments in order to achieve better results.
Not every person or every body part is recommended for CoolSculpting. Therefore, clients must consult with their physician to determine the best course of action possible. CoolSculpting is best suited for those who are either at or close to their ideal body weight.
Following the procedure, side effects may include temporary redness, numbness, bruising, tingling, stinging, swelling and pain. Other rare side effects may also develop.
