What are dermal fillers?
Heber Davis specialises in the use of “natural” dermal fillers. These smooth gels are identical to the padding that occurs naturally in our skin. As skin ages, our padding gradually breaks down, resulting in skin sag, wrinkles and a loss of volume.
An attractive face is classically characterised by smooth, round contours, high cheekbones, no jowls and a slim, well-defined jaw line. These features together comprise the “triangle of beauty” or “heart of face”, with its base at the top and summit below. As we age, facial fat loss, gravity, weight loss, exercise and loss of the skin’s natural elasticity conspire to reverse this triangle’s composition, leading to a narrower, skeletal looking forehead and temple area, flat cheeks and a wider, heavier jaw line. Dermal fillers help to restore these classic proportions, naturally and instantly, by restoring volume to your mid face, leaving you looking rejuvenated, younger and more attractive.
Because these dermal fillers are natural gels, they are biocompatible, non permanent, rarely cause any problems and can be easily dissolved if required.
Why use dermal fillers to enhance the cheek?
Research – along with our media and culture – tells us that high cheekbones are universally considered to be attractive. Youthful volume in the mid–face also signals vitality, health, and attractiveness. Unfortunately, as we age, the face loses volume and the cheeks begin to sag and flatten. Our face appears longer and more bottom heavy, with drooping skin and jowls. The folds running from the nose to the corners of the mouth deepen and hollows and dark shadows appear beneath the eyes.
Non-surgical cheek augmentation using dermal fillers allows us to reverse these changes by restoring lost volume and enhancing the cheekbones, and to lift the face in a way that looks perfectly natural. Adding volume with fillers can also help reduce naso-labial folds, improve laxity in the lower face, and eliminate a sunken, aged appearance.
For many faces, restoring volume in the cheeks is the key to successful overall facial rejuvenation.
How soon will I see results?
Immediately, with further improvement over 1-2 weeks.
How long will my result last?
Fillers used for cheek augmentation are thicker and longer lasting than those used in other areas. Results can be expected to last from 1-2 years.
What precautions should I take after treatment?
Until any initial swelling, redness or bruising has resolved, do not expose the treated area to intense heat (e.g. sauna or sunbathing) or extreme cold. Do no wear goggles or masks that compress the cheek area for 2 weeks.
